There’s a new spot in the neighbourhood, and it’s one you won’t stumble upon every day. Dutch Door has quietly opened along Joo Chiat Road, adding to the area’s ever-growing food and drink scene.

What makes it different? For starters, it’s only open on weekends from 12–3pm, and the bar serves up just 100 cocktails a day. Once they’re gone, they’re gone. It’s a concept that feels playful and a little exclusive — a reminder to slow down and make time for something special.

Climb the red stairway at 432a Joo Chiat Road and you’ll find yourself in a cosy upstairs space with plenty of character. One of the little quirks? A phone marked “Pick Me Up” — which cheekily doubles as a reminder that you can call to check if there are still drinks left.

The cocktails change every month, keeping things fresh and giving you a reason to return. Last month’s Yuzu Mojito was bright and citrusy, while this month’s highlight is the Spiced Watermelon Margarita — juicy, tangy, and with a fiery kick of habanero. Perfectly refreshing in Singapore’s heat.

If you’re planning to go, it’s best to pre-book through the link in @dutchdoor.sg’s Instagram bio, just to be safe. Or, if you’re feeling lucky, you could always pick up the phone and try your chances.

Dutch Door is a welcome new addition to Katong Joo Chiat — part bar, part neighbourhood secret, and all about good drinks.
